Kappa proudly partners with Reading Is Fundamental (RIF). There is a significant and cyclical literacy crisis facing America today and it begins with children. Twenty-five million children in the U.S. cannot read proficiently, and RIF believes that together we can make a real difference and set children on a path of growth and opportunity. Every child deserves an opportunity to own books, learn how to read, and obtain the fundamental building blocks to achieve their highest potential. Your donations will open the doors and enable every more and more children the chance to live their own journey.

In the fall, we host our annual Kappasta event at the Kappa house. At our event, anyone is welcome to purchase a ticket, make a donation, and/or purchase a t-shirt. Buying a ticket buys you a plate, and we have a buffet of spaghetti, meatballs, mac and cheese and garlic bread ! It is always a huge success, bringing together students from all different groups. The funds go to RIF.

In the spring, we host our annual Breakfast for Books event at the Kappa house. Similar to Kappasta, the people that come receive a plate in exchange for a donation. There are Bodos bagels, fresh fruit, drinks, and much more! The funds raised during this event also go to RIF.
